curvy glass

I have been wanting to attach a candle stick to something ever since I saw a bunch of you crafters making cake plates and other fun stuff. I made a cake plate for a friend but I still had nada at my house.

So for weeks I have been garage sale-ing to find the perfect mix of glassware. I have four candle sticks. This project is my first success using two of the candle sticks...with more to come. :)

At first I got that tallest curvy glass vase and thought I had wasted 25 cents because it just didn't look quite right... but then I found this other curvy smaller vase to go with it and I fell in love!

I used E-6000 glue of course. That stuff is great. It is also I think $2...and something at Wal-mart which is cheaper than most craft stores.
The vase I almost didn't use. Now I love how curvaceous it is!
And this one I stacked onto the tallest candlestick. I LOVE it!
See...curvy is beaut-i-ful. Va-va voom.
I put these new yummy skittles inside. They are two flavors in one. See?

Yum.

I am thinking these vases will be fun for candy corn, peppermints...for later this year, and some floating rose blooms from my garden after I eat all these Skittles. :)

Besides how time consuming it was to look for just the right glassware - because I am cheap and picky which makes shopping with me almost impossible - this was SO fast and easy. To make these two vases it only cost me $1.75 because I already had the glue! Makes them even prettier huh?

How very crafty and pretty besides! Now I'm going to be forced to go thrift-shopping again.

I will definately be trying this! I always want to buy the ones they have at Hobby Lobby but never want to pay the money. I think I can find some great buys at the Dollar Tree and put them together myself! Thanks for the idea!
