easy fluffy fringe scarf

I seriously love the scarf trend. With the weather being slightly cooler this week around here, this light breezy scarf has been most welcome in the mornings. It also only took me a few minutes to make and about $2.60 to buy. No kidding and no sewing.

I make it a habit to quickly check remnant bins and dollar fabric bolts at Walmart whenever I shop. That is where I found this light purple/pink gauzy fabric for $1.50/yard.

I quickly grabbed 1 1/2 yards and the scarf was already halfway done!

Next step...eyeball cuts about every two inches.

Then tie knots at the end of each fringe piece.

Done.

Wear it a handful of different ways. You can sew the edges if you are worried about the unfinished edges, but I didn't. It bunches together anyway. Any fraying, which is minimal, just adds to the gauzy look.
It makes my plain Jane T-shirt and jeans look just a little more put together.

*This works nicely for any lightweight fabric. Just browse through clearance fabrics for the best deals. Really thin jersey knits work wonderful too.
