Look Ma no hands!
Having three kids has been a bigger adjustment than the move to two. You really do run out of hands.
So, I made a third arm...
Having three kids also makes me a little more comfortable with my lumpy body after having a baby. :) A little...
The sling doesn't work all the time. Natalie only really likes to be in it if I'm walking around. If I sit while she's awake, she tries to arch and squirm herself out of it. But...I'll take what I can get.
I used this tutorial - click here. It is very detailed and gives a lot of variations. But for that reason, it is sometimes a bit hard to follow.
I had to refer back to it several times to make sure I didn't miss anything...because it seemed too easy for how much information came with it. So for quick reference I took pictures of what I did.
But please don't think I came up with this on my own and
be sure to see the full tutorial for any questions, sizing, using
different measures of fabric, how to safely wear it, etc. Jan Andrea does a very thorough job of explaining all the alternate possibilities.
Now for what I did...
I got 1 1/2 yards of cotton fabric from Hobby Lobby to be sure I had enough. The fabric can shrink a little after washing and you might have to get the grain to match up....it's good to be safe.
So easy right?
It's so fast.
Really, the part that took me the longest was trying to pick out a fabric I wouldn't mind wearing across my body and that would go with several different outfits. I'm the type that browses almost every bolt of fabric before I decide.
