Spoiler alert to our grandmas! Shoo! :)
These pictures of my squishy faced boys makes me smile.
Which I need right now. I need to see them for the cute little human beings that they are. I need to remember and bask in how incredibly amazing they are. Because they are.
I won't lie. It's been hard to be a single mom...especially this week. Really hard.
I want to give a big tight hug to all of you who are alone. I want to tell you that you are loved, that you are strong, that you are doing a great job. I am grateful that this period of my life is temporary and that I get to see my husband at least a couple of times per month. All you single moms...you deserve the world and back this Mother's Day!
With my emotional and physical reserves being low this year, I wanted to involve my kids in a gift for the grandmas but I didn't want it to be time consuming or messy. Which left...photography!
Which we used to make some quick, easy, fun cards.
Here's what we did:
*I had my boys take 2 minutes to kiss our dirty back window (should have cleaned if first... bah). I had the boys kissing the window from the outside while I snapped pictures from inside.
My boys LOVED this...as you can tell. :)
*Then I snapped a picture of Natalie with her arms wide open.
* I turned the images black and white. Then, I hopped onto Picasa and created collages of the images in
8 1/2 x 11 size and added text. If you don't size the pictures/collages, then parts of the image may get cropped funny during printing, so don't skip this step.
I left some space at the bottom for us to write a message.
*I printed the pictures up (double sided so it would be a card) on glossy card stock at my favorite copy shop. Ask for picture quality black and white if you can. It will cost more but will be worth it.
* I added a thoughtful gift card personalized to each grandmas' interests.
And Mother's Day is made.
Dear Grandmas...we wish we could hug and kiss you in person! Happy Mother's Day!
Though...hopefully you're reading this after Mother's Day...right? :)
And to all of you too! Hope you have a good one.

This is a wonderful idea, I love it!! Such a good way to get boys this age to pose. :) I was too late to include them in our Mothers day cards, but I did take these pics, post them on facebook and tag the grandmas with a message. I put them on the blog today as well.
