If you don't know already, we are somewhat LEGO obsessed at our house.
It's true we play with LEGOS at our house daily and sometimes all day...especially in the summer time.
I even threw a whole birthday party dedicated to LEGOS for my oldest son, Owen, last year.
I love that they are high quality toys and mostly kid proof. They last forever, unless they get chewed on too much. In fact, most of my sons' LEGO collection is from my brother and I when we were young. I guess you could say they're vintage. But you can only tell that they are because the sets are no longer offered. We very much love LEGOS.
Incorporating building LEGO animals into our reading experience opened the opportunity for more interaction between us as we role played with the animals and wove improvised lines into the story.
What kid doesn't like to hear their mom oink like a pig while making a pig hop around and nuzzle him in his tickle spots?
The LEGO DUPLO Read & Build set gets big brownie points from me for bringing together auditory, tactile, and visual learning into one activity; making Reid's reading experience well rounded and more likely to stick.
They've already joined our other DUPLO LEGOS for other fun adventures with our CARS 2 set.
I'm looking forward to Natalie growing into them. One benefit of being the youngest is that you get the coolest hand me down toys right? Hopefully, probably, by then Reid will be willing to give them up. Right now...not so much. He is super possessive of them at the moment.
So...Want to win some LEGOs of your own...since Reid won't share? ; )
I get to giveaway one $100 LEGO gift card to one lucky reader!
That's a lot of LEGOS, yes?
