Soup of the Day

Does anyone else feel like life moves at fast forward speed from Halloween to Christmas Day? I do.

I love autumn. The crisp weather, hot chocolate, pumpkins, colorful crunchy leaves, and crochet season!... And I want to soak it all in.

So, to help us all savor the season, I've put together a series that is easy to digest.

I call it:

The guest blogger line up is scrumptious:
They'll be sharing old family favorites and maybe a few new ones.

The recipe is simple:

As you check items off your every growing to do list, my hope is that this series will help you cozy up your dinner menus and comfort your way into the holiday season.

The kitchen opens tomorrow! Can't wait to fill your bowl.

Also...please send warm thoughts and prayers to those affected by Sandy!

mmmmm, Christie makes the best soups, too! Can't wait for her recipe, and all the others. If I could only convince my husband that soup is, by itself, a real meal. sigh.

MMMmmmm, I love soup. We have soup nearly every Sunday, year round, even when it's 30+C outside! lol! Most of the time I just toss things in a pot, I didn't even realize there were RECIPES for soups until I was an adult, haha! Very 'traditional dutch' in our church... come home from church, have 'coffee' which is coffee/tea and a dessert, then have soup (with buns or crackers) for lunch, maybe take a nap (if you're a dad, ha!) and then go to second service. Soup is generally toss-in-a-pot and every family has their own specialities, and a lot of dads/husbands are really good at soups! Mine is quite proud of his toss-in-a-pot soup abilities, things can get a bit ugly if friends/relatives show a bit too much enthusiasm if I've made the soup! ;)
