Thankful Tree

November 23, 2010 · Delia 4 Comments

Taking inspiration from this post from Be Different Act Normal, and from a friend who did something similar we made a Thankful Tree yesterday.

My son and I cut all the leaves out of leaf scrapbook paper. Then as apart of Family Home Evening we wrote down what we are thankful for on the leaves, punched holes in them, and tied them to a tree branch {it’s white because it is our Easter one} 2-4 at a time with brown string.

It was really fun and helped my kindergartner practice his scissor cutting skills and writing skills. It was also so so easy…which I love. Kids crafts are more likely to happen around here if they’re easy.

It is great way to help your family get into a thankful mindset for this Thursday.

Don’t forget…the Mamachee Crochet Pattern giveaway ends tonight at 9 PM MDT.

So cute. We have one as well with fabric leaves from the Dollar Store. It makes a great FHE and I love that they keep adding to it!

I <3 this! I am going to link to this on facebook and I'm going to use this idea. We have three thanksgivings this year, two at our house. I would love to have a place for everyone who comes to celebrate with us write what they are thankful for, anonymously, and attach them to the tree to just see how truely blessed we have been this year. 馃檪 Thanks for the idea!
