Free Halloween Challenge Part II

October 5, 2010 · Delia 14 Comments

Yesterday I showed some *almost* free Halloween decorations/crafts.

Well today I have two more.

6. My sintra bowl is from this previous post here. The sintra can be pretty inexpensive depending on where you buy it from.

7. This stick wreath was inspired by this one here from allcrafts.net and is the almost free craft for today.

1. First…pack up the kids and go stick hunting. Get A LOT of sticks.

2. Then cut or break {which is what I did} all your sticks into similar lengths. It doesn’t have to be perfect….at least not with this Halloween craft. The more imperfect the spookier it looks.

3. Cut a cardboard circle out of an old diaper box or cereal box. I used a medium sized mixing bowl and a cereal bowl for tracing. Cover in burlap or twine if you want. I don’t think it is necessary. I added the burlap and it made gluing things more complicated. Plus you are going to paint over it so…

4. Hot glue the sticks around the cardboard circle.

5. Then spray paint it black. I had to touch it up with acrylic paint as well. You can paint the sticks before gluing. It’s up to you.

6. Hang with a black ribbon and add an orange plastic spider if you have one in your Halloween stash.

Done!

Now if you have some extra sticks…don’t toss them! Hang onto them. I have one more Halloween-y/Fall thing to make with them tomorrow. It isn’t a free craft. It will be more on the yummy side of things. 馃檪

You seriously amaze me! I love that wreath and I am picky about my crafts. I think I am totally going to make one! 馃檪 Thanks for joining me in the Halloween challenge! I think you are the only one who is actually doing it. I emailed like 8 specific bloggers and invited them to participate. And then there's all the readers I openly invited on my blog. 馃檪 you rock!
