Hats for Winter Wonder

January 7, 2013 · Delia 13 Comments

Morning!

I hope you had a warm, safe weekend.

It’s been suuuuuper cold here.

So, I made some beanies for the kids. I’m sharing the pattern and tutorial over at Amy Christie’s Winter Wonder series!

It’s my first attempt at a sewing pattern (except for this kid’s wallet pattern), so I would love to know if you try it and how it works for you.

It’s a pretty simple project, but creating a pattern is really not! I hope to improve and eventually share more patterns with you.

After taking these pictures, I realized that Natalie really needs neutral or girly mittens and some baby boots! We’ve been wrapping her legs in blankets and keeping her inside or in the car. She can’t wear her big puffy snow suit all the time, so I’m really feeling the motivation to make her boots and soon!

While I’m making boots:),  be sure to stop by This Heart of Mine and say hi!

Have a lovely day!

P.S. Today is the last day to enter the Cetaphil $100 Visa gift card giveaway. Go here for the details.

Delia, might I suggest checking ebay? You can often get brand new, brand name shoes there for a fraction of the retail price. I got warm, winter boots for my girls (stride rite) for about $10/pair. And these were new, too.

Awww, they are so cute! Cute hats too. =)
Ooh, I'm excited to see what you come up with in the way of boots! I keep thinking about making some shoes for my little people but I never get around to it.

Bratling – Crystalyn. I will have to check that out. Thank you! She has such tiny feet. She's almost 10 months but wears 3-6 month shoes. Well..I use that size pattern but elongate and thin out the sole a bit. She has long, skinny, petite feet. I am crocheting up some boots now. Not good for walking in snow but good for keeping her warm.

Charity – I am going to attempt some sewn

Cute!! And hats are my nemesis. Always much harder to put together than you'd think. Thanks for the pattern!
