Summer Mesh Sweater Crochet Pattern

Skill Level: Adventurous Beginner

If you have made my Rectangle Cardigan pattern, then you are definitely ready for this sweater.

Stitches Used:

• ch = chain
• sl st = slip stitch
• sc = single crochet
• hdc = half double crochet
• fpdc = front post double crochet
• bpdc = back post double crochet

This pattern uses U.S. crochet terms.

Materials:

• G/6 or 4.25 mm hook
• Size 3 or DK cotton blend yarn – 400-600 g or 928-1,392 yds*
• yarn needle, scissors, stitch markers

*This pattern is designed for cotton or cotton blend yarns. If you want to use a synthetic or wool yarn, size up or expect a slimmer fit. I used Coboo yarn in “tan” from Lion Brand which is half cotton and half rayon derived from bamboo. This makes for a soft yarn with fantastic drape, perfect for apparel.

YARN AMOUNT

Estimating on the generous side, to account for waste inherent in the crocheting process, here are some approximate yarn amounts needed for each size:

XXS, XS – 4 skeins,  about 900-920 yds

S, M – 4.5-5 skeins, about 1050 -1150 yds

L, XL, XXL – 5.5-6.5 skeins, about 1,300 – 1,600 yds

I recommend buying more yarn than you will need in the same color lot, so that the color won’t change if you need another skein. Then return what you don’t use.
