90 minutes times three

This past weekend has been a sewing weekend for me. Here are some of the fruits of my labors.

I finally got around to cracking at the 5 yards of jersey that I bought at Walmart for $5. I cracked it into three 90-minute shirts…tutorial by Dana at MADE…with lots more still left over.

* Yes…that is a worm. Reid, my youngest, loves bugs.

The tutorial has you make your own pattern. I made this shirt once before but couldn’t get the neckline just right.

I think I finally got it…at least for size 2T.
Still…the edging still kind of drives me nutty. How I wish I had a serger.

You can see that two of the shirts have semi-jagged edging.

I tried to combat that by sewing the white edging on the third shirt more like quilt binding.

That turned out meh…so so. It made it kind of thick.

And oh…trying to make the size 5-6 shirt was a little trickier than I thought. Argh.

I still am not 100 percent pleased with it. But this one will do.

The shirts were done just in time. It was rainy for the better part of today and I doubt we even hit 70 degrees. The minute I saw sunshine I shooed everyone outside for pictures and then playing with neighbors.

Every time I make one of these shirts, I get so excited. I really made a shirt. Dude.

Way to be productive! 🙂 I like how the shirts turned out, and love how cheap it was to make them. Bonus!

oh my! I think they turned out great! My favorite is the white neckline. But I love them all. Sorry it’s being tricky for you. Yea, getting the pattern down is the hardest part. But it looks like you’re there!

I think they look great, Delia. I’ve had this one my list for ages and the knits are still just sitting there so good for you for jumping in and getting them done. They boys are adorable. I love that they take pictures the same way mine do.

Cute shirts on some cute boys! Looks like you hit the same sale at Wal-Mart that I did. 🙂

I love the things you create, and you say that you don't like the way these turned out, but they look amazing.
