baby quilt/playmat

My friend is having a baby shower this weekend so I knew it was the perfect time to dig into my stash and make this easy quilt from Katie did that I found via MJ&G.

So I should have looked back at the tutorial and not gone strictly off memory because apparently I was supposed to be sewing lines in only one direction and way more than I did but…this works fine too.

It was fun to use some of my bargain bin thread colors that I got for 50 cents. I used lime green, peach, brown, and tan.

It was fairly fast. I am a newish sewer, this is my second quilt ever and it still came together in one afternoon. Do you have some big pieces of fabric in your stash you don’t know what to do with? This tutorial is great for that.

Oh and…I used this video tutorial with my first quilt to learn how to bind. I just top stitched the second step instead of hang binding it.

Happy Sewing!

Cuuuute! Quilts are intimidating to me but that one doesn't look so scary to make 🙂

PS… I tried making that chocolate cake with peanutbutter frosting and it was *delicious* 😀
