bats in our window

Yesterday we put up our second round of Halloween decorations. I didn’t want to put all of them up at the beginning of the month for fear that I would get sick of them…plus it kind of extends the fun.

Taking inspiration from Dana’s wall of bats, and the 3D bat art from Tatertots and Jello, I made some bat art for our window!

No instructions need really.

I used this wooden bat as a template. It kind of has a Mickey Mouse roundness to it that bugged me when I was done…but meh. My kids love them.

I love the impact it makes inside…

and outside.

It even looks cool at night. Especially since we added some orange Halloween lights. Please excuse the broken blinds…they scream “Yes…we have kids!” don’t they?  🙂

I loved it so much that for a minute I wondered why I didn’t think to put them up earlier this month…and then when my two year old went to inspect them…I remembered…Ah yes. I only want to play bat guard for a week, thank you.

Happy Halloween week everyone!

This is such an awesome and cheap idea! (cheap is important!) Repeating it in large numbers is even better. 🙂
