Clothespin Apron

April 12, 2010 · Delia 8 Comments

I needed an apron for hanging up the wash. I spent the whole summer last year juggling a plastic cup of clothespins and the laundry at the same time. I finally wised up and made this apron for this year. It has deep pockets to hold all the clothes pins. It ties in the front so it is easy to put on and remove.

I couldn’t hang up the wash today because we have rain forecasted for this afternoon. I toyed with the idea of hanging soapy dirty laundry and letting the rain rinse it and then have it air dry after. Instead I hung up the apron. : )

I got the general pattern from this book. My mom sent it to me. Thanks Mom! I love it!

Kym…my mom sent the floral print to me. I am guessing Jo-anns. I got the polka dot print from Hobby Lobby. Thanks. 馃檪

Looks great. I had one and left it outside and got moldy so make sure you bring it in. I just love hanging laundry.

That's cute. Wish I had a clothes line to go with a cute little clothes pin bag like that.

Thank you so much for posting! My grandmother had made one like this a long time ago and now it is wearing out. Without her here to make another one and grandpa still around to hang up clothes I was looking for something that looked like the old one…I have found it! Grandpa always has tied the apron strings at the end and slung it over his shoulder…presumably to look more masculine. 馃槈 We like it that way too. Thanks again for posting!

Hi Holly. I am terribly sorry for the poorly written post. I wrote it when I first started blogging 9 years ago so I had a lot to learn. Ha! I don’t have the book anymore, but I know it’s called “A is for Apron.” If you flip through you’ll find the apron that looks like this one. Good luck!
