Come on get happy!

May 16, 2012 · Delia 30 Comments

There’s a lot to be happy about this time of year.

Summer is shining just around the corner. Swimming pools are beckoning us closer… sprinklers, popsicles, fireworks, eating watermelon on the porch, NO SCHOOL… is calling our name. Our excitement for summer is positively bubbling around here.

So, I thought we’d spread the sunshine that we feel.

With a bucket of chalk.

Adorable helpers.

And some kind words for our friends and neighbors…

We spread joy wherever we could…

For our neighbors who quietly take our trash can out on trash day every single week.

For our friends returning home from vacation.

For sick patients who enter our local health care facility.

For the weary who might seek this bench for respite and hopefully find uplift as well.

We reminded people to smile…

that life is good, because it surely is…

to smile when it rains (Owen came up with this idea – cute right?),

that they are epic (Owen’s favorite compliment :), he wrote it almost everywhere we went),

and that they are loved.

My boys had a blast being “kindness spies.” That’s what I called them to get them excited about participating. They loved driving around town pointing out spots where they wanted to stop and spread some love. We had so much fun we’ve kept the box of chalk in our van so that we can write kind words wherever we are, all summer, as the mood strikes.

I also wrote some other happy messages that have ME super excited for summer…

That’s right. Color Your Summer 2 is right around the corner! If you missed Color Your Summer last year go here and here to check it out.

Kojo and I are excited for all that we have in store for you this year.

It will be “chalk” full of projects in all the colors of the rainbow for the whole month of June.

I will be having some visitors…

and a giveaway or two.

As will Kojodesigns..

Happy yet? It’s going to be…epic. 馃檪

Can’t wait to…

The fun begins June 4th!

Have a happy day!

The teacher in me has to point out that it should read "you're epic" rather than "your epic"… it's a teachable moment!
