a COOL way to eat bananas

Did you guys see that banana ice cream recipe on Make It and Love It via Our Best Bites?

I thought the idea was incredibly intriguing so I tried it.

Verdict? Yummy! Not too hard to make and it just feels good to be eating pure fruit.

My boys liked it too. They weren’t like ravenous wolves wanting seconds, but they licked their bowls clean.

I don’t even have a food processor like the recipe recommends. I just used my mini food chopper {I bet a blender would work similarly} and the back of a sturdy spoon to cream it all together. You really have to put some arm strength into the creaming part but even still…I think it turned out pretty good.

I only added chocolate chips here so you could see just how ice cream looking it is, but I imagine it would be really fun to load on the toppings for a REAL banana split. 🙂

There are more fabulous kid friendly recipes in the same post as well. I highly recommend it!

I saw that recipe and was skeptical. Probably because of the banana whipped cream I had just made. But I like bananas and you've encouraged me to try it, so I will! Thanks.

I saw that on Make it and Love it, and tried it the next day. My husband loves bananas, but he didn't like it. I, on the other hand, don't like to eat bananas, but I liked this! Weird.

I loved this when we tried it a couple weeks ago and my little guy did too. It's great in our house because my 2 year old is lactose intolerant. A word of warning with doing it in a blender, if you don't have a very good motor it tends to smell like you are burning out the motor. It still works, but you might have to add a little milk into it to make it easier for your blender.

This sounds wonderful! I can't wait to give it a try. I also found on Make It and Love It that you can make loose popcorn in brown lunch bag in the microwave…I had no idea. This has opened up a whole new world to me! 😉
