Easter Geranium

It’s so fun having a girl. 🙂

I recently bought Made By Rae’s Geranium Dress pattern and decided it would make a great Easter dress for my daughter Natalie.
I heard so much hype about how great this pattern was, and it did not disappoint.
It is constructed cleverly, so that the inside looks almost as good as the outside. The bodice is a perfect fit. I sewed this in the 6-12 month size since Natalie is petite, and it is spot on. I also sewed more dresses in the 12-18 month size and they actually fit fine enough to wear now but with some room to grow.
I love all the options, the cap sleeve being my favorite variation for the sleeve. For this dress, I sewed it with a cap sleeve, v-notched bodice, and a gathered skirt in dress length in a soft white 100% linen. The linen is a bit thin so I added another layer for an under skirt.
I created my own ruffled hem, and added some soft blue lace at the waist, which was a gift from my friend Dana.
I rummaged through my stash for some cool statement buttons, but in the end decided to keep the dress crisp and sweet with some barely pink buttons up the back.
Natalie was playing peek-a-boo with me in these pictures.
Sometimes she’ll cover her eyes or miss her eyes and squish her cheeks. But most of the time, she squeezes the sides of her forehead and squints her eyes shut…. and then pops them open at boo. I only got her with open eyes (darn) but it really is the cutest thing.
I sure love this girl.

If you’ve been following me on instagram (@deliacreates) you know there are five more Geraniums to see. So, Natalie is pretty much set through the summer. I had a little sewing marathon the last few nights to help blow off some stress. It was so what I needed! I’ll show you more next week. 😉

Until then, I’m looking forward to a low fuss Easter this year. I didn’t do any sewing for the boys because they will be wearing their suits with white and gray bow ties which are already done! (yay!)
Have a beautiful weekend and Happy Easter. 🙂

What a precious little dress! I have two girls (4 and 6) and this is my first year not sewing Easter dresses for them. I also have a 10 month old (boy) and I am continually amazed at how your create such beautiful things with three kiddos underfoot. Natalie is looking more and more like her Mama! So sweet! Happy Easter!!! -Emily

Holy cow, she is sooo cute! I just bought the same pattern and made a dress for my twelve month old daughter a few days ago! I had to do the 6-12 mon size also. Little baby girl sewing is so fun!

Oh so beautiful and perfectly Easter-y! That little lady of yours looks like she has such a big personality, what a cutie. Rae really did nail the sizing on this pattern, such a good one! Can't wait to see the other three (since I've already seen one, teehee!) 😉

so cute!! I sewed up geranium easter dresses for my girls too, and they are pretty skinny too. My 4 year old falls into the 18 month size, but is 4T height. lol! I love the blue lace on yours. After I finished my first one I decided it needed something extra for easter and added some cream colored lace.

Delia this is so beautiful. Our dresses would have looked great together! all that white. Except yours is handmade, which I love :).
And the blue lace! That makes me happy. I actually just pulled it out this morning for a project so it's really fun to see it on your dress. Oh that Natalie. What a doll. She's so cute!

This is so lovely! The white with the pale blue lace is so sweet and delicate, love it!! And Natalie is just the happiest little model. She is so sweet, would love to see her peek a boo in action. What a sweetie.

Hope you all had a happy Easter! Can't wait to see the rest of the Delia/Geranium line! 🙂
