fabric high chair

August 21, 2010 · Delia 5 Comments

So…I have been doing more organizing than crafting and not even that great a job at it.聽 Plus no one wants to see our boring file boxes of kid art. 馃檪

聽

In my organizing efforts though, I did find this project in my computer files that I totally forgot about clear back from January. It is Homemade by Jill’s Fabric High Chair. I was so enthused to make it at the time and when I finally got around to it, my baby didn’t need it anymore. So I have packed it away for future baby #3 {I am NOT announcing – just had to be clear}.

*Look how little he is…awww. You know he turns two in a less than a month? He is about 16 months in this picture.

Anyway…back to the fabric high chair…
It is really portable and nice for babies 7 months or so {sitting solid} to about a year or so when they are walking and can break out of it. It is easy clean up too. Instead of scrubbing a hard plastic seat with a million crevices, you can just throw this in the wash. That was a big reason why I wanted to make it in the first place.

It comes together pretty quickly. I made mine pretty cushy because I only had fluffy batting and with just scrap pieces and an old khaki skirt. It doesn’t take much.

My five year old even liked it. 馃檪

Much comfortable and you can tie them so there is no any risk of fall from the chair.

    Hi.
Love the high chair. Might make one for my 5 year old son who can’t sit still at meal times.
Perhaps the thought of a high chair and baby bib might make him behave lol 馃檪
