Happy Valentines Day!

I hope you are all having a very lovely day!

Here is some heart love from our day today…

I got up early this morning to make heart shaped doughnuts.

And if you make heart shaped doughnuts you get heart shaped doughnut holes. Yum. The “holes” are my favorite.

I got the recipe from the Pioneer Woman…see this post here for links to the recipe.

We tried to make it at least slightly healthy with a strawberry banana shake.

Then we wrapped a couple of them up for some friends in these cool window origami boxes. Lorajean from Lorajean’s Magazine shows you how to make them here. They are SO fun and simple. All you need is some 12×12 scrapbook paper and clear plastic.

I made this one heart shaped as well using a cookie cutter as a template.

With our dinner, we dressed up some sodas with Jello Jigglers.

I simply made strawberry flavored Jello Jigglers, cut out little heart shapes with cookie cutters greased with spray oil,  and plopped them in 7UP (I found that 7UP works best).

The little heart shaped Jigglers jumped and danced around in all the fizz continuously for about 5 minutes. It became our beverage and entertainment in one!

The jigglers didn’t even dissolve right away like I thought they might. When one got caught in our straws we slurped them right up. My boys had a blast. So much so that we eventually had to take them away so they would eat their dinner. 😉

It’s festive and costs hardly anything to make! We are definitely repeating it for more holidays!

Hope you had a happy “hearts” day!

I totally need to make those donuts!

And very scary about the accident. I'm glad you weren't injured. I get shakey and flustered after close calls, I can imagine you'd need some time to recover from something serious.

Delia, So glad you are all OK! Dang, that's scary!!!

As for the fist part of your post…girl, you are amazing! You MADE heart shaped donuts for Valentine's day? I'd have felt like I accomplished something if I'd taken Maddie out to DD to BUY one on V-Day. Love the idea for jello jigglers in the 7-up. I'll have to try that if I can find someplace that
