Orange…Guest Post from A Lemon Squeezy Home

May 10, 2011 · Delia 6 Comments

Orange you glad today is Tuesday?聽I am. Because it means聽Christie from
A Lemon Squeezy Home
is guest posting today!
Man…this girl can SEW.
One of the first things that attracted me to her blog was her
sewing through the decades series from last summer.
She made clothing for every decade from 1900 through 2010.
You can spend HOURS looking through all of her stuff from that series. I did. 馃檪 I especially love all the sewing history she included. She is very knowledgable and a good teacher.
Christie is also聽a pro at making adorable聽girly dresses and skirts聽for her little girl. I love these summery ones:
The Sunshine Dress

Ruffled Bubble Skirt
And she doesn’t just sew girl聽clothes. She also makes cool things like this:
A bike basket for her boys.
And one for her too.
A sleek wet bag.
Great for the pool.
A cool bunk bed fort.
SO perfect for a summer project.
And this fun
ruffled vase.聽Just right聽for picking wildflowers. 馃檪
And… she is one of the most beautiful, kindest souls you will ever meet. I have never met her in person {although I hope to one day!}, but I have loved getting to know her through blogging and emailing.
She sincerely loves her family, her faith, and creating beautiful things.
Her tutorials are so detailed and easy to follow. She really does make everything seem easy peasy – A Lemon Squeezy…home. 馃檪
And today she is going to share another beautiful dress tutorial with us.
Here’s Christie!
I鈥檓 so excited to be participating in the Color My Summer series today!
I have loved every bit of it so far.聽 It has been so fun to see all
the wonderfully COLORFUL items everyone has created!
Delia is one of my favorite bloggers.聽 She is such a lovely person!
Her photography is breathtaking. Her blog is one of the most happy and
peaceful blogs around,聽 and just an overall inspiring place to be!
When Delia asked me what color I鈥檇 want to focus on, I first went with
green because it鈥檚 my favorite color.聽 But I started to think about
summer and things that I love, and poppies came to mind.
聽Orange poppies!
They are so fun, bright, and cheery!
聽This dress is really
simple to sew, and I’ve included instructions on how to make one for
any age.
Oh Christie! This is beautiful!
It doesn’t hurt that your model is downright adorable either!
Click here for the full tutorial.
And be sure to click on over to Kojodesigns聽as well,聽for this fun orange puppet theater!

The link for the Poppy dress goes to her site, but there is no tutorial listed nor available in her past posts (checked through her search).

Thanks so much for checking the link. I can see it now 馃檪 The dress is ADORABLE, but I have no little girls at home.. 馃檨 I am thinking of using the poppies in my house as decoration as my bedroom has suddenly turned into this whole poppy themed thing… 馃檪 Thanks again!!

I too have no girls, but WOW I am so stoked about trying that bike basket! My little guy will absolutely LOVE it! I can see it getting filled with bug nets, die cast cars and bouncy balls, and of course, dirt! No doubt one of the next things I make 馃檪 Thanks for sharing- loving this series! Everything you do is classy awesome, delia 馃檪
