Pin Test: Back to School Snacks

August 24, 2012 · Delia 5 Comments

Today’s Pin Test is one of those pins that makes you go…, “Well duh, why didn’t I think of that?” The idea is SO simple, yet it’s a great idea I wasn’t implementing.

It’s a snack basket with portioned out serving sized snacks for your kids. See the pin here.

I stopped into my local Dollar Tree and found this cute, cute blue wire basket. It’s a bit smaller than I wanted for my snack basket but I just couldn’t leave the store without it. When I got home I realized it was the perfect size for a our limited pantry space anyway. So it worked out quite nice. 馃檪

The boys love it so far, especially Reid who usually has to ask for help to get what he wants. It’s at his level and easy for him to access; which in turn helps me.

Since Owen started second grade on Wednesday. (When did he get so tall??)

I thought I would give this cute pin a go as well.

Instead of bagging up the gold fish crackers, like the pin shows, I used them to spell out a little note that was waiting for him when he got home from his first day.

My ocean obsessed boy loved it.

I have to say, part of me was dreading school and getting up early (Owen is more of a morning person than I am :)), but the schedule is doing good things for us. Reid’s next. He starts pre-K preschool in two weeks!

Have a fun weekend! We (as in me) are working on reorganizing/redecorating our apartment. I just might have something to show you soon. Crossing my fingers.

Love the snack idea….and sounds like we are in the same boat…my oldest just started third grade and my middle is starting 4 yr old preschool in a few weeks…so we are adjusting to the new early schedule! (AT least I'll still have my 18 month old home with me in the mornings:) Also we tried the calming bottle with glitter and are in the process of making a correction can…. I'm

I bought some of those cute wire baskets from the dollar store as well. I got one in every color though, I couldn't not have them. Looking forward to the apartment post.
