Pin Test: DIY Art

I’ve been a little MIA because our home projects have pretty much consumed my extra time. But I’m done and ready to get sewing for Project Run & Play! I can’t wait…

While I’m busy sewing I’ll be posting what I’ve been up to the last little while.

One of those projects being more DIY art.

I saw this pin and loved it! The simplicity of it was so soothing and nice.

Our bedroom needed some art, so I gave it shot.

I made two and flipped one canvas to give a ying yang kind of feel.

Then I put them on our bed stands/dressers. We have to use our dressers as night stands since my crafting desk is on the other side of the room! 🙂

I’d say it came out pretty close. I didn’t want to make it such a close “copy” at first, but a brighter color didn’t feel as right or soothing for our space. I used more of the white space than the inspiration and I used more of a taupe/gray to match the gray in the new chair I just recovered. I actually recovered two of them but more on that later. I’m excited to post about that one. The fabric is from one of my lovely sponsors, Lily Bella Fabrics.

If you want to make this art…one word of advice. Make sure you use a nice DRY bristle brush. 🙂

I hope your long weekend is refreshing and relaxing. I’m going thrifting for some “fabric” for PR&P!

Speaking of PR&P, my bio is up! You can read it here.

I love these pieces, they immediately made me think of skyscrapers. One side they stand up, the other they fall from the sky. I really love them.
