Spring Scarf

April 6, 2012 · Delia 15 Comments

It’s been Spring break over here, with some actual Spring weather to go with it. Usually we have snow on the ground.

So it’s been nice.

I made this Spring scarf a while back and finally got to put it to use today. I paired them with my pretty purple Target flats, which makes me happy. 🙂

The scarf is just two yards of some light weight, sheer $1.50 fabric I got from Walmart.

Want to make one like it? Check out the tutorial here.

It’s no sew and so easy!

This scarf provides some good benefits to my post-partum body.

It’s does a pretty good job of disguising my after baby belly, or at least distracting the eye from it. And…ahem… any nursing leaks should they arise. 🙂 It also just makes me feel pretty. Isn’t it such a lovely print?

I finally (barely) fit into my fat pants today…with a rubber band through the button loop. Oh yeah!

Yay for wearing more than just leisure pants every day! Now if I can muster the energy to put some make up on my tired eyes. For now, I’ll just crop them out. 🙂

I hope you’re enjoying Spring where you are!

it’s such a beautiful scarf! It makes me wish I was a scarf wearer (I don’t think many here in the deep south are…it’s just too hot and humid most of the year.) Like you said, it would be a nice way to hide some physical quirks.

A few things I’d like to thank you for: your nesting series was delightful, your idea of stringing your kids’ artwork in their room is brilliant (it got to the point where I couldn’t stand going on my daughter’s room because of the artworks’ chaotic onslaught all over her wall), and sewing elastic straps on flip flops. Just a few among many things I thank you for.

    CONVITE

scarves are my fav mom-accessory! So cute and chic and has soooo many benefits for moms.
I don’t want to think about wearing real pants again after baby… lol… I think I will continue wearing leggings and dresses until late fall and hope that by the time I feel the need to wear pants again, pants and I are ready to be friends… 😉
