well done

August 3, 2010 · Delia Leave a Comment

I have had some really cool readers do some of the projects from my blog…but way better! So to
Rachel White and Stacey Brown…

I say well done!

Rachel used the distressed canvas tutorial and made these wonderful projects:

Look at how the posterized images on the side came through so beautifully. The painted “light” in the middle…wow. Very nice.
I love, love, love the patriotic theme between these four canvases. What an inspiring idea. Yes?

And…

Stacey did the kids art shirt but a little bit differently.

This is what she wrote:

I made it based off of your tutorial of having your sons draw robots and you used freezer paper stencils to put it on shirts for them.  I had my son Theo, who just turned 4, draw his Daddy, then I traced his lines with a sharpie, scanned it enlarged it in Word.  Then I printed that onto heat transfer paper and cut out the majority of the design.  Ironed it onto a tshirt for my husband and we gave it to him for Father’s Day.

I like this technique. It turned out really clean looking. Nice job Stacey! Theo is a pretty good artist too I must say. 🙂

Stacey and her friend also has a website here: www.staridesigns.com.
Go check it out. Her hand painted canvases are really pretty.

Thanks for sharing your projects with me. If you have done a project from my blog please email me and let me know about it. I would love to share it on my blog!
