Chuck E. Cheese's has been around for as long as I can remember. I even have a Chuck E. Cheese's token from the year I was born. True story.
As a child, Chuck E. Cheese's was my favorite place to eat (besides the place with the golden arches). The best part for me, was the dancing and singing bears. Do you remember them? I used to think they looked SO real!
I also remember the fun mirrors and rides like these:
I remember the seat belt being a lot looser though. It's good to know they're improving the safety of the rides.
When I had Owen, and he was old enough to appreciate Chuck E. Cheese's, I would take him for play dates with friends. We could let the kids roam around and play with a fist full of tokens, while the moms chatted. We didn't have to worry about the kids wandering off or leaving with someone they shouldn't.
Chuck E. Cheese's Kid Check system is pretty genius if you ask me. They stamp you and your child with an ink sensitive only to black light. Before you leave, they check to make sure your numbers match with their black light flash lights. Brilliant!
Now, we live a bit farther away, but still make the effort to go one or two times a year for special occasions. This time, it was to celebrate the end of summer.
My kids love the frenetic chaos that is Chuck E. Cheese's.
They are definitely in their element running around and soaking in all the noise.
And seeing the whole place buzzing with excitement and glee is quite infectious.
I made sure to sneak in a few games of Skee Ball. It will always be my favorite arcade game of all time.
There were some new games that were pretty rad as well. They have the popular smart phone app, Fruit Ninja, on a huge touch screen. I'll admit, I was right in there bumping elbows with my kids to get my own chops and slices in. What can I say? It was a lot of fun.
During this visit we tried their new (ish) pizza.
At the end of the night, we fed our tickets to the Ticket Muncher and then let the kids "go shopping." Choosing a trinket from the glass cases below the gigantic wall of prizes is a memorable must.
The people behind the counter were great with my kids. They made sure each of my boys got to choose equal amount of prizes even though they were a little short on tickets, which was so nice!
Other pluses I noticed:
- The tables and bathrooms were clean! This is not often the case at many "family friendly" restaurants. So that was a big plus for me.
-Speaking of family friendly. Wherever we go out to eat, we bring a lot of mess and a lot of noise. I like that we feel like we fit right into the Chuck E. Cheese's crowd.

We love chuck e cheese! So much fun even for us adults, I agree sore ball is one of our favs! And the big plus is everyone rests after going which us huge at our house since no one takes naps at our house anymore except the newborn!

Our family LOVES going to Chuck E Cheese!! We love the food and the games. My youngest in particular is crazy about games. This is one of our favorite ways to celebrate big days (first/last day of school and birthdays) together.
I love Chuck E Cheese because of the genius kid check system. Not that I don't watch my kids like a hawk at all times in public. You just never know what can happen. Those kids can disappear in a split second. It gives a little extra peace of mind. Plus, we LOVE games, pizza, and not having to worry about whether our kids rowdiness is disturbing others!
We love the games and prizes! Our son loves to ride the rides and climb in the play place, too.
I have never taken my kids to Chuck E. Cheese and we have one close to where we work. My son sees the sign and says it's "PBS kids", because he sees the commercials on PBS. Would love a gift card so that they could have this experience.
