I hope you all have been having a wonderful holiday season!
I'm going to keep things festive around here while I share the rest of our Christmas, starting with some pajamas I made for the boys.
I was running out of time before Christmas and was just going to buy some pajamas at the store. But...I could either not find any I liked or that I was willing to spend money on. The mound of knit and ribbing I already had in my stash was haunting me, telling me it would only take one night to just whip up some pajamas. So, I gave in. :)
I used T-shirt patterns I drafted from existing shirts for Project Run & Play and a great legging pattern from Go To Patterns:
Go To Leggings
I must say that Andrea's way of installing an elastic waistband is now my favorite.
If you don't have a shirt pattern already, Made by Rae has a great T-shirt pattern with ribbing:
Flashback Skinny Tee
Even better, Peek-a-boo Patterns also has a pajama pattern that will take care of the top and pants:
Alex & Anna Winter Pajamas
The patterns are really great and take out the guess work for you. I just used what I already had on hand to save money and time. If I were to make these again, from the patterns I used, I would slim down the shirt and make the leggings a bit baggier (for boys).
To make the leggings more pajama like, I simply added some ribbing to the bottom.
The process is really simple:
2. Fold the ribbing tube in half, wrong sides together.
3. Slip the tube over the bottom of the leggings.
4. With raw edges together, pin the ribbing to the leggings at the seam and the opposite side.
5. Stretch the ribbing (not the leggings) and serge all the way around. Use the pins to help you keep the stretch even all the way around.
6. Turn it right side out. Done!
I used the same process for the sleeves in the shirt, and a similar one of for the neckline.
I couldn't bear to leave the pajamas plain but I also didn't have much time to spend on meticulously cutting out a cute graphic.
Remembering a cute wall reindeer made out of washi tape that The Salty Pineapple posted on instagram earlier this month (it's also in this post here), I whipped up a super quick stick reindeer. To save even more time, I drew one reindeer and cut two layers of freezer paper out at the same time.
The boys seem to like their pajamas. :)
Cute little crazies.
Before I leave you, I have a bit of business to take care of. I didn't hear back from one of the Melly Sews 3 Pattern giveaway winners, so I have chosen a new one.
Connie who said, "I love her patterns! I'd love to make something adorable for my nephew and niece!"
You have won your choice of one pdf pattern! Congrats!

I'll be back with more Christmas coming up.
Hope you're having a fun Friday!
