Cheesy Valentines

I don’t know about you, but I whole-heartedly embrace the cheesy, corny side of Valentine’s Day.

I love it.

So much so, that I decided to prepare a bunch of cheesy little Valentine gifts to give to my boys throughout the big day. I kept it really simple with inexpensive, mostly ordinary treasures and handwritten notes from me. My goal is thoughtfulness rather than fanciness.

You’ll also notice there is not a lot of sugar. They get plenty from school Valentines. I try hard not to add to that.

There are some for snack time, some to put on their car seats as little surprises when I pick them up from school, and some for bedtime. They recently got over being very sick, so new toothbrushes seemed appropriate.

I like the idea of sprinkling little love notes throughout their day to remind them that I love them and am thinking of them. 🙂 *The glow stick heart was inspired by CINO and Smile and Wave.

I am not a morning person. When we have a baby in the house, I am even less of a morning person. So, instead of getting up early this year to make a special breakfast. I baked up some mini muffins and popped them in the freezer. That way I can pull some out the morning of, and have a breakfast like this waiting to greet them. (They’ll get more than two mini muffins of course. ;))

I got these white octagonal milk glass mugs at a yard sale last summer for $1 for a set of four. I’m so in love with them.

Oh, and the muffins are banana chocolate chip…which helps explain the phrase a little better…

And just so my husband doesn’t feel left out (even though I am pretty sure most men don’t care for Valentine “cheese”), I got him a bag of Almond Joy Pieces. His two favorite candies in one. Perfect. (I’m fairly certain he won’t read my blog until this weekend. If not, avert your eyes honey!)

I hope you en-JOY 😉 your Valentines Day!

This is perfect for me Delia. I have been feeling so uncrafty and inadequate viewing all of these really complicated printable projects online, since we do every thing last minute I felt like throwing the towel in….this I can do! Sometimes simple rules.

I love these, you are so punny! 😉 I especially love, "There's muffin to it. I'm bananas for you!"
My dad always came up with cheesy puns like these while I was growing up, so I really adore them. =)

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who's not a morning person. I got up early this morning to make my husband breakfast in bed and only ended up with one teeny pancake because I ran out of time. Frozen muffins sound like a much better idea. 🙂
