Thank you everyone for keeping me safe on Project Run & Play! I’m working on the white sheet challenge and it’s killing me! Holy Cow. I have never spent so much time just staring at my sketches and wondering which way I should go. I sincerely hope this isn’t the week I go home.

I’m so sad to see Christina go. She should win a Miss Congeniality award for being the nicest person in the competition. (Side note: The funny thing about these two pictures is that they were taken within seconds of each other. Talk about mood swings. This is where my husband would pipe up with like mother like daughter. :))
And now. Laura, who this post is really for (and who I originally called Lindsay…REALLY sorry about that. I’ve been a bit off kilter lately!). Thank you for coming up to me and saying hi in Joann on Saturday. It was a pleasant surprise…although I was really sorry I hadn’t done my hair that day! Okay…actually let me be honest. I almost never do my hair. 馃檪
You said something to me that I wish I responded to. You complimented me on the dresses I have been making for Natalie for PRaP and then said you couldn’t sew like that.
We exchanged nice to meet yous and then went on our ways. But…what I wish I said, was that, “YES, you can sew like that!”
When I agreed to do Project Run & Play, my original goal was to make it past the first week and simply churn out the best work I could do. I knew that I wasn’t the most skilled or experienced sewer in the bunch, but I was excited to push myself.
What I have learned in the past two weeks is that, by simply trying and jumping in with both feet, I can do so much more than I ever thought!
I hope that my own sewing聽journey聽will inspire you to do the same. Who cares what other people think? Who cares that the first gift you sewed for your niece fell apart and was really, super duper ugly (true story)? What have you got to lose? Nothing. You can only get better.
I hope you have a great week and that you find time to try something you’ve always been meaning to. 馃檪

You are famous! I have to agree- I've sewn so many things recently that I never thought I could– the only thing that's changed is my attitude!
My first attempt at sewing a dress was TERRIBLE. I completely forgot about the whole concept of "shoulders" and ended up sewing random bits of fabric back to the top of the dress I could get the sleeves on. Yeah. I'm not exactly "classically trained" but I am a little better now. 馃檪

My first sewing projects definatly weren't easy back then. It took a lot of time, and yes, it was never like it's supposed to be. But that didn't stop me from sewing and trying new things or looking stuff up (also not classicly schooled, just self-thaught). it didn't stop me from wearing the dresses or skirts
You are totally right. I am always impressed when I push myself. As always I really loved your dress last week!
My sister Laura also told me that she saw you in Joanns recently & complimented you on that cute baby dress. How funny. I guess lots of people agree, that it is super cute. You create cute stuff.

Amen, My sister (who is professionally trained) would laugh at everything I made when I first started sewing. I knew that most of my projects might fall apart in the wash, but I kept sewing. Now, I get praises when she looks over my stuff and is always commenting on how far I've come without any real training. The more you sew the easier it becomes and the better it looks.

I have to tel you that you nailed on you Jackie Kennedy outfit. My husband saw me looking at your blog post the other day and said "Hey that looks like Jackie Kennedy in baby form" lol! Wow, I feel so honored to have a post dedicated to me! You are very sweet. On Saturday I came home and told my husband I saw you and I was a little worried that I totally weirded you out. haha.
