Family Pictures 2012

We barely squeaked in family pictures this year. I wanted to make it a big production, get an professional photographer, etc.

For various reasons, we ended up going DIY again this year and using our camera remote (you can read more about that here).
It wasn’t my favorite family photo session but we managed to get some silly ones…
some fun ones
some in between
and a couple that might work for our wall (although the overexposed look is not jiving with me this time.)

Or a Christmas card (which might turn into a New Years card. ;))

Hmmm…I think this one (above) is my favorite.

Finding an indoor location was tricky. I didn’t want scarves, jackets, and beanies in our pictures this year…even though I think that would make a cute Christmas picture too. I just had to get those suits in the picture, that I spent forever on 🙂 so we found an empty university cafe that had a cool vibe.

Each of the boys got a turn with the remote and got some funny shots. 🙂 Natalie spent some time snooping through my purse while we got everything set up. My purse seems to be her favorite ‘toy’ lately.
I made most of Natalie’s outfit. I used my bubble skirt tutorial but increased the size to a 6-9 month size, made tights using Rae’s tutorial, and made her a baby cardigan (tutorial found here).

Her onsie is from Old Navy and her shoes are from the Children’s Place.

The boys wore their suits again and Reid sported a gray crocheted bow tie (tutorial/pattern found here).
He is also sporting a busted lip that ended our photo shoot a bit early. Poor guy. Dress shoes, marble floors, and playing tag with his brother didn’t mix well that day. He was a good sport though.
I wore a new dress from Eshakti. I am so excited to tell you more about it tomorrow.
**I also get to give away a custom dress from them too. So be sure to come back for that!
From our family to yours, we’re wishing you a very happy holiday!

Aw, you all look so cute! And I’m really impressed that you took these with a remote! It’s difficult enough to take pictures of one person with a remote. =)
