Gnomeo hat

Have you guys been over to see Dana and Rae’s Boy Celebration? What am I saying. Of course you have!

I have been loving all the cool boy projects they have been showcasing. Especially this one by my friend Lorajean.

She came up with a crochet pattern for a gnome hat. Completely amazing huh?

It reminds me of that new movie Gnomeo & Juliet. We actually saw it Valentine’s weekend. I’ll just say that all that movie was good for was teaching my kids what gnomes are so they would know what this hat was supposed to be for. πŸ˜‰ About two minutes in, I leaned over to my husband and whispered, this is going to be bad isn’t it? He just gave me thatΒ  “I told you so” look. It wasn’t terrible but, anyway…back to the hat.

I made one for Reid with some yarn I had in my stash. It is a tiny bit small for him, since the pattern is for a baby and he is sadly not so much a baby anymore… but he LOVES it. In fact, Owen and Reid argued over it all morning! It also doesn’t really match any of his clothes except this shirt – ha, so if I make more I think I’ll need to go yarn shopping.

The hat comes together pretty quickly. I think it took me just a couple of interrupted hours.

And…just because I love this face so much, I have to include a couple more pictures of Reid. Most of my pictures are minimally edited {I just adjust light levels and every once in a while mess with shadow and highlights} and these are no different. His skin is really that perfect. It makes me marvel all the time.

Perfect baby skin…even though he reminds me daily that he isn’t one anymore…is the best.

Thanks for letting me get my mommy gushing out. πŸ™‚

Have a warm, cozy weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!

so cute. We took all three to the movie. I was amused by the movie, but it could have had more to do with watching my kids really enjoy it. They are so little and it was the twins' first theater experience.
