Hugs and Kisses Mother’s Day Card

May 11, 2012 · Delia 10 Comments

Today we’re making some easy, personable Mother’s Day cards that involve cute kids…

and squishy faces. ha.

Your camera does most the work for this project, so it’s simple and quick.

Here’s what we did:

I had my boys kiss our back window outside while I snapped pictures of them inside. (dirty window optional…;))

My boys LOVED this…as you can tell.

Then I snapped a picture of my baby with her arms wide open.

I turned the images black and white. Then, I used Picasa (which is free!) and created collages in  8 1/2 x 11 size and added text.  If you don’t size the pictures/collages, then parts of the image may get cropped funny during printing, so don’t skip this step.

Alternatively, you can also do this in Word, Photobucket, or another picture editing program.

I left some space at the bottom for us to write a message.

I printed the pictures up double sided on glossy card stock at my favorite copy shop. (Ask for picture quality black and white if you can. It will cost more but will be worth it.) You can also do this on your home printer, but the quality is most often nicer at a print shop.

I added a thoughtful gift card personalized to each grandmas’ interests.

And Mother’s Day was made.

And just because their squishy faces are so cute, here are some outtake shots for your enjoyment…

🙂

This is a wonderful idea, I love it!! Such a good way to get boys this age to pose. 🙂 I was too late to include them in our Mothers day cards, but I did take these pics, post them on facebook and tag the grandmas with a message. I put them on the blog today as well.

Thanks for such a fun idea!!
