Lavender Envelope Sachets

All of our grandmas and moms live far away so I have been making some easy to mail gifts for Mother’s Day.

I have been wanting to do this envelope sachet idea from Martha Stewart for a while.  Classy…beautiful. Everything from Martha is though, right?

I harvested and saved some lavender last year from my garden to use for this project. I LOVE the smell of lavender. It is soothing and relaxing which is perfect for any mother.

I decided to take Martha’s project one step further and make my own envelopes out of scrapbook paper so that I could use the scrapbook paper designs to guide my pin holes. I really like how they turned out.

Here is what I did:

You need…

See how easy and simple? As you can see with the more intricate purple paper design I did not pin hole every line. I just did random loops and just added more as I went until it looked good and had enough air holes for the scent to come through. So you can make these scrapbook envelopes…

I hear you can use any kind of scented herb. I bet you could even use pulled apart cotton balls dabbed with essential oils as well.

These are perfect for sock drawers, cars, Mom’s purse…so many possibilities.

So…if you need a quick 10 minute, yet thoughtfully handmade, Mother’s Day gift this one is for you!

Hi, I came over from Tipnut.com and I love these! My lavender is blooming for the first time–great timing.

I also sponsor a teen in El Salvador and a little girl in Bangladesh, and we can only send paper items to them, as anything too thick or bulky will get confiscated in customs. I'm always looking for ideas of something different to send, and these will be just perfect!

Lovely idea that I will try one day but I don't think you can send lavender overseas due to customs etc.

    Cheers – Joolz
