MADE Flip Vest Pattern Review & Giveaway

February 16, 2013 · Delia 397 Comments

I have a real treat for you this weekend!

I get to give away THREE Flip Vest patterns from the MADE shop!
Flip Vest? Well, it’s new! Dana’s newest pattern in fact.

I was beyond flattered and excited to help test this pattern. Even in it’s test form, her step by step instructions were superb. You get all the beautiful, helpful pictures you typically get in a MADE post, plus more!

Dana is a great teacher. Don’t know how to sew in ribbing? Never sewn anything lined before? Don’t fret. Dana makes everything clear and doable, to help you get a professional looking finished product.

(A couple days before I sat down to sew these vests, I got my new labels that I won from Project Run and Play. Thanks Jennifer’s Jewels!)

I like sewing patterns that teach me something. If I finish a pattern a better sewist, with a product I feel like I can give as a gift, then I know it’s a good one.

And that’s what you get with the Flip Vest pattern. I learned a couple new ribbed knit tricks and ended up with two vests, one for Natalie and one I plan on giving as a baby gift.

Dana gives you two different arm hole options and closure options (button or velcro).

I chose the second armhole option. It takes a little bit more time to sew but gives a nice, clean professional end look. I am also a sucker for buttons, so of course, I had to go with the button closures.

You can put buttons all the way to the hem if you like. For babies, I like the two button option because it allows for better movement for crawling, climbing bodies and more room for cute little baby bellies that tend to stick out. (If you like Natalie’s little beanie, check out the free pattern here.)
To learn more about how to purchase the Flip Vest pattern, go HERE.

*All fabrics are from Joann. The outer fabrics are flannel and the liners are fleece.

And now for the giveaway!!

THREE winners will get the brand new Flip Vest pattern from Dana’s pattern shop!!

What a great piece to help with the transition from winter to spring, though winter is FAR from over. Dang it. Thanks for the generous offer. My 4 year old granddaughter would love it.
