summer bucket list

I know I have been seeing these around the blog-o-sphere in many different forms. We did one last year on a foam shaped bucket. This year, we used an actual bucket…

…and some clothes pins.
I picked up a 36-pack of clothespins for just a buck at the dollar store and rounded up some sharpies from around our house. Then we sat down as a family for Family Home Evening, and decided what fun things we wanted to do this summer while I wrote them down on the pins. The boys really wanted to help too. So we let them.
Uhhh…we still don’t know what Reid wrote but he felt so proud of his contribution, so we are keeping his pins as “wild cards.”  🙂
We were careful to not write down too many things so we can still maintain a relaxing summer attitude. This list serves mostly as a reminder to do the things we love before summer slips through our fingers; as it always seems to do.
We have already been chipping away at our list and hope to have our bucket filled with all our summer fun before school starts.
Hope you’re enjoying your summer too!
I actually have some fun things to blog this week, so I’ll see you soon! 🙂

That's such a good idea, Delia! I was just thinking about you… I was on Pinterest a little while ago and you can see where people are pinning things from. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many from your site! You do great work and it's so fun to read about the stuff you're doing and making.

I'm curious about the bucket you used…I would like to use this format for a bucket list this summer as one of my campfire programs. Is this one of the heavier duty buckets or does a $1 bucket from Target stand up to the weight of the clothes pins?

    Thanks so much!

Love love love it! Have just started my own bucket list blog for this summer, so I used one of your pictures for it. (http://theultimateseniorsummer.blogspot.com/) Let me know if you want it taken down! Awesome idea though, definitely want to make my own 😀
