ten fingers…ten toes

April 10, 2012 · Delia 30 Comments

It amazes me to think that just a month ago…

we were counting ten fingers and ten toes on our little Natalie Jane.

A lot can change in just a month…

My mother in law gave me the idea for these pictures. Maternity pictures post found here.

Or even in just a few weeks…

Left: one week old
Right: one month old

Spring time has been such a fun time to have a baby.

Happy one month little baby chick…a.

P.S. If you have a minute…
I’m thinking of having a mini photography series in the next week or so.
Do you have any questions or topics you would like me to cover?
Remember, I’m not a pro. I’m completely self taught which will be what the series will focus on.
I would love your feedback.
Thank you!
Have a splendid week!

what a sweetie! Love those little toe pictures– can’t wait to count the fingers and toes of our own little man in August. Congratulations!!

I’d love to see some photography posts– I really enjoy reading different perspectives on photography, blogging, etc.

After seeing your photos taken with your remote I asked for and received one for Christmas but haven’t really used it though. I would love some tips on how you use your remote… tripod? self timer? etc.? I also love taking photos and feel as though I am never in them because I am taking the pictures. Any tips?

Oh too cute. I love the “before” and “after”. I wish I had done that with my kids. Too stinking cute.

SHe’s just precious! I’d like it if you gave some pointers on editing! We have photoshop, or rather the hubby does, and he never gets around to teaching me. Or just simple things to do to make pictures all sharp and magical like your always do. My DSLR makes me look like a way better photographer then I really am, but my photos don’t pop like yours!

Years ago a photographer for Life magazine published a series of photos he took of his daughter each year as she grew up, from birth to her mid-20s. He posed her in a woman’s one piece swimsuit. First it was like a blanket, then it looked like dress-up, and finally it fit her age. It was a lovely series.

I would definitely take any advice you could offer. Your photography is amazing and I really need the guidance. I don't have a lot of confidence when it comes to my dslr. I begin using it and then I stop and I never really learn it. I try and I do continue but your photos are so full of natural lighting. I don't know how to achieve that. Still can't figure out aperture and

Pretty gals! I Like the during and post pregnancy combos! What about something brief about getting the most out of a non-DSLR camera? I suspect that there are many like me who want to take great pics but need to wait a while to make the upgrade!

Cute little baby! I'd love to see/learn more about your self portraits. I'm always behind the camera as a mom but you seem to be enjoying moments with your kids–in the pictures! Do tell…

How is your lighting always just perfect??? Especially indoors. I assume that you are not using your flash… Do you have lenses that are your favorite? Most used settings? Your photography is the top reason I read this blog! 🙂 You are amazing and inspiring for being self-taught.

sweet. I love that she's a little bald baby. Reminds me of my daughter. My boys have lots of hair a my 2yr old baby girl has yet to have a single hair cut. Her hair isn't even to her shoulders yet.

Awwww, those are the most precious photos!!! I wish that I had gotten really nice photographs made when my girls were tiny…not that I don't treasure those snaps my hubby took of me,exhausted, with hair hanging in strings, and baby, face half-obscured by a blanket, but it would be nice to have something a little more….artistic. 😉

First of all, I want to say congratulations on your blog and baby. I love, love, love your pictures! As for suggestions, I would like to ask for some help with lighting. I have an SLR and have had problems with lighting. For some reason, my built-in flash does not seem to be enough, and I haven't been able to figure out how to adjust my flash manually.

I would love to read a photo series! You always take amazing, clear, bright, eye-catching pictures.

I also would love to read more about angles. How to get the most flattering/interesting angles.

Also, what kinds of books (if you have any) you recommend for someone with a DSRL that has no idea how to use it for all it is worth. Good books on focus, settings, etc.

    Can’t wait to read it!
