Kid Fitness Jenga

March 25, 2015 · Delia 7 Comments

Fitness Jenga - a fun way to help kids burn off energy on a rainy day! // Delia CreatesWith spring break coming up, I’ve been strategizing ways to help the kids burn off some energy on the inevitable rainy Washington days. So, I came up with a fun, active twist on Jenga!

Fitness Jenga - a fun way to help kids burn off energy on a rainy day! // Delia CreatesI just wrote some kid friendly exercises on the Jenga  (affiliate link) blocks with a micro sharpie pen…

You can let them decide to do the exercises together…

If the moves start to get old, challenge players to do everything with their eyes closed, or while singing Old MacDonald. The sillier, the better!

If you want a list of ideas, here is ours:

5 jumping jacks

Do a cartwheel

5 push ups

Jog in place for 10 seconds

Touch your toes

5 sit ups

Dance for 10 seconds

10 kicks

Hop on one leg for 10 seconds

Skip around the room

Do a headstand or handstand

Plank for 10 seconds

Crab walk around the room

Run around the room 2x

Do a somersault

Walk backwards around the room

Ski in place 10x

Pretend jump on the trampoline 10x

Pretend hula hoop for 10 seconds

Pretend swimming for 10 seconds

Your choice 3x

REWIND: Do the same task as the player before you

Get a drink of water

I included “get a drink of water” to remind them to stay hydrated! 🙂

This game works best with younger elementary aged kids, but you can throw in tougher challenges for older kids as well.

This would be interesting to make for adults too. Maybe throw in some more challenging exercises, and you have your work out for the day.

I own a laser engraver and will be engraving the exercises
on the Jenga Blocks for my grandkids

    Thanks.

    Perhaps make on request. AND

add a number on the block ends to correspond with rolling dice and adding the numbers to
    remove a particular block.
