Five Second Yogurt Pops

May 2, 2013 · Delia 15 Comments

Can you feel it?

Summer is around the corner and I am so excited!

Today, I’m sharing a sweet, yet healthy (well healthier!) treat that takes five seconds. I guess you could get nit picky and time yourself and find it takes 30 seconds. But five seconds sounds better and yes, this is really fast. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I mean, I almost feel silly posting it…

I grabbed some yogurt cups from the store. I found that the cutest ones were these Chobani Greek Yogurt ones with some awesome flavors. For $2 a pack, I just had to snatch them up! There were some Activia ones that were a good size as well.

I cut a slit into the top and popped popsicle sticks in. Done!

One cut went out of control so I added a swatch of packing tape on top and tried again. No sweat.

I popped them in the freezer. A few hours later, we had the perfect after school treat. The connected cups act as a tray but better. Just pop off the one you want and you’re set.

You’ll want to let them thaw a bit first, or run them under warm water for a few seconds to make unmolding them easier. You could even pack it in a picnic like this, unopened. By the time you’re ready for dessert, your yogurt pop will be ready!

I also tried it with some Walmart store brand yogurt. The cup was a bit large for my liking but I knew my kids would like the blueberry flavor so I went with it.

I was right! Blueberry was a hit and the larger cup wasn’t actually so bad. They begged for it for dessert after dinner as well.

Most yogurts have a lot of sugar, so it’s not completely health nutty, but it’s a nice alternative to ice cream or all sugar popsicles and it’s nutritious.

I originally made these as a treat for my boys but found it to be a great treat for me as well! I find that I eat less, enjoy it more, and feel more satisfied when I am done with a frozen yogurt pop over just a cup of yogurt. Oh and the raspberry dark chocolate Chobani was completely delightful!

That’s something to celebrate…

Cheers! ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great weekend!

P.S. I have a LOT of sewing and crafting and guest posting coming up after our move. Thanks for hanging in there with me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

ooh how yummy! I will have to try this. I may do it with a big tub of yogurt and ice cube trays, since I'm cheap! ๐Ÿ™‚ And that dark chocolate raspberry one sounds fantastic.

I've done this in the past, but with the added steps of using the tupperware popcicle makers.. One yogurt cup makes 2 pops that way though! ๐Ÿ™‚

I was doing it many times with Danonino(in Poland in summer they promote this type of eating their yoghurts). And I always love it!
