Jo-Ann Fall 2014 Look Book BIG Announcement!

September 9, 2014 · Delia 47 Comments

You guys!

I have something huge to share. Okay two things. One: I’m moving to the Pacific Northwest which explains why I haven’t yet had the chance to tell you about Two: I’m in the JoAnn Fall 2014 Look Book!

I’ve been secretly working on it over the summer and I’m excited to share it with you now!

JoAnn-Fall-Look-Book-2014

Yep, that’s my project on the cover. Pinch me.

Here’s a peek at the rest of my projects:

Spiderweb Fascinator (46 of 81)0909My Halloween Chic project. Yep, it was totally weird but fun to work on a Halloween project in June.

State Shaped Mouse Pad (42 of 52)0909They asked me to come up with something for guys using the U.S. states trend. I threw a mouse into the mix as well. 馃槈

snap scarf final (34 of 52)0909An easy, snap flannel scarf for me…

Crocheted Bean Bags (79 of 79)0909And lastly, my crocheted cover beauties.

Despite what it looks like, these are not technically crocheted in the round. Intrigued?

The full pattern is in the Look Book HERE. Simply click on the titles on each picture in the book, and you’ll be redirected to the tutorial on Jo-Ann’s site. I’ll also be bringing home all my tutorials to my blog over the next few months.

Be sure to check out the other projects in the book as well. I am super excited to be in company with this amazing group of bloggers! I also want to give a big THANK YOU to all the people at Jo-Ann who are always such a pleasure to work with. I couldn’t ask for a better聽company to collaborate with!

We just made the opposite move from the Pacific NW to Utah. It took some getting used to, but each region has its own kind of beauty. Your camera will be VERY happy in Washington because it’s so scenic!

Congrats on the fall look book opportunity. How fun to have your work featured nationally!

      Thank you!

I’m excited for the beautiful scenery for sure! Can you tell me what the hardest part of adjusting to Utah was? I am curious if it will help me get a feel for what I will have to get used to in WA, if that makes sense?

You’re amazing! I love all your projects. You are one of my favorite sewing bloggers. I’ve been looking through your boy sewing to help me decide between clean slate pants or peek-a-boo skinny jeans…any preference?

Also, we live in Portland and the NW is amazing!! You’ll love it.

      Aw thanks Amanda!

About the patterns. Both are great patterns. I would say the Blank Slate pants pattern one is my favorites because it gives a professional finish with a working zip fly. I like the slim fit of the peekaboo skinny jeans because all my kids run slim. It has a button fly (not zip fly). It is helpful with dressing and undressing, but is still no replacement for a zip fly, especially in the older sizes. It is a little bit easier sew than the clean slate pants, but if you don’t feel ready for the zip fly yet, you can leave it off. Really though, you can’t lose with either pattern. I hope that was helpful. ha! I guess, go with the pattern that suits your preferences? They are pretty different.

Thanks for the info. I’m sewing for a slim 20 month old, so I think that is why I am a little stuck; but I am sure I’ll collect both patterns eventually. 馃檪 I guess I can always slim down the blank slate one, like you have done, and keep the fly.

Ohhh I love that scarf!! And I love washington state. We took a hike to the top of hurricane ridge on the Olympic peninsula last July and it was the most beautiful hike ever. Marmot, deer, wild sheep, and even a bear off in the distance! Check if out once you’re settled in!
